BIRGUNJ: Parsa Police arrested three persons for smuggling clothes from the Nepal-India border area of Chhapkainya in Birgunj on Monday.

According to inspector Ain Bhadur Malla of Ward Police Office, Birta, the smugglers tried to illegally enter a vehicle loaded with clothes through the border point.

Vehicle driver Nabin Kunwar of Lalitpur, Mohammad Anwar and Mohammad Firoj of Birgunj were arrested on the charge of illegally smuggling clothes.

Malla said the trio, along with the vehicle and clothes worth three lakh rupees were handed over to the Revenue Investigation Office in Pathlaiya.

Further investigation into the case is under way, said police.
