MANANG: Snowfall coupled with rain has thrown normal life out of gear in the trans-Himalayan district of Manang on Thursday.

One of the locals, Melina Gurung said, "Snow has continuously battered the regions of Upper Manang, Tanki Manang, Bhakra, Ghyaru, Khangsar, Pisang and district headquarters Chame today."

On contrary, local farmer Kul Bahadur Ghale of Chame Rural Municipality -2 in Manang said he is very happy because of continuous snowfall, which he believes bodes well for seasonal crops.

After the snowfall, seasonal crops would not be infested, Ghale shared.

Transport and communication services have also been adversely affected due to continuous rainfall followed by snowfall in the district. The locals have been confined to their homes and are warming themselves by sitting around the fire.

Meanwhile, Lamjung has also witnessed continuous rainfall and snowfall in upper regions.
