DOLAKHA: A bomb disposal team from Ranabhim Battalion of Nepali Army defused a socket bomb planted at Ward No 6 ward office of Bhimeshwor Municipality in Dolakha on Thursday.

The explosive device might have been planted targeting the election mass meet organised by Nepali Congress. Locals informed police after they found a suspicious object. NC’s Bal Krishna Khand had addressed the mass meet at Charikot on Thursday.

Police said the bomb was planted by anti-election forces to obstruct election-related activities.
