KATHMANDU, APRIL 10
Solududhkund Municipality in Solukhumbu district has introduced the "Rotate Doctor" program, aimed at providing essential medical services to vulnerable groups, including senior citizens, single women, pregnant women, mothers, newborns, and schoolchildren. The initiative seeks to ensure professional healthcare is easily accessible to all members of the community.
The program's first health camp was successfully conducted on Chaitra 24 at Takshindu Health Post (Ward No. 1), where a medical team led by Dr. Gyalshen Gurung provided free consultations and specialized services to 51 individuals (39 women and 12 men). In addition to general check-ups, the camp offered cervical cancer screenings, ring pessary fittings, and IUD/implant satellite services, addressing critical health needs in the community.

Mayor Namgel Jangbu Sherpa announced that these health camps will be held monthly, ensuring continuous access to healthcare within the community. Residents have expressed their gratitude for the convenience and cost savings, as they no longer need to travel to the headquarters for medical services.
The municipality remains committed to providing high-quality, cost-free healthcare to its citizens, ensuring the health and well-being of its people for years to come, the Sherpa added.
