Solve Terai issue for CA polls: NC MP
Pokhara, January 21:
Member of the Legislative-Parliament and Nepali Congress leader Mahadev Gurung said the demands of the people of Terai should be addressed properly to make the constituent assembly (CA) polls a success.
Speaking at an interaction on Constituent assembly and peace in the present context, organised by Nepal Tarun Dal (Kaski) in Pokhara today, Gurung said, “The CA polls will not be successful if the communal revolt in Terai is not addressed on time.”
“How can there be a guarantee of security of the general public when security personnel are themselves feeling insecure,” Gurung said.
“The CA polls were held in four dozens of countries in the world byt most of them failed to yield concrete results,” Gurung said.
He blamed the regressive forces of creating violence in the name of communities and religions in various places in the country.
Central member of Tarun Dal, Brinda Rana, former central member Mukti KC, central vice president of Federation of Nepalese Journalist Gangadhar Parajuli and member of Nepali Congress district working committee, Nirmal Karmacharya also expressed their views.
