Sood pledges unstinted development aid
GAIGHAT: Indian Ambassador to Nepal Rakesh Sood today said his government would assist Nepal to carry out various development projects, including dams.
Laying the foundation stone of Jyoti Higher Secondary School building in Udaypur's Beltar, he said the two neighbours shared cordial relations. ''There is also a cultural relation between the two countries,'' he added. He recalled that India had been assisting Nepal in the sectors of health, education and drinking water for long. India has contributed Rs 19.7 million for the construction of the school building and has set aside Rs 28.9 million for the construction of a dam in Triyuga river. Envoy Sood urged all the stakeholders to support the projects. Meanwhile, addressing a programme organised by Hadiya locals in his honour, Sood pledged support to construct the Phattepur-Gaighat road section.
