Dhangadi, March 16

The government of Sudurpaschim Province has ratified two procedures aimed at discouraging infrastructure development through consumers' committee.

The procedures were tabled by Financial Affairs and Planning Ministry and ratified by a Cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah yesterday. "Earlier, there was a tendency to scatter the budget on small plans unnecessarily, which would only serve to dissipate invaluable resources.

With these new procedures ratified, that trend will end," said Financial Affairs Minister Naresh Shahi, expressing hope that the new policy of the government would help control irregularities.

Besides, the Cabinet meeting also decided to form taskforce for the improvement of education and health sectors.

While a three-member team headed by Prof Hemraj Panta has been formed to study improvement in the education sector, another three-member team led by Ganesh Bahadur Singh has been formed for improvement of the health sector.
