Kathmandu, May 7:

Speaker of parliament Subas Chandra Nembang today held talks with the government and chief whips of parties to ensure smooth functioning of parliament.

Nembang urged Home Mister Krishna Prasad Sitaula and Minister of Peace and Reconstruction Ram Chandra Poudel to attend the meeting tomorrow as they did not take part in today’s meeting. Tomorrow’s meeting will also discuss ways to ensure ways to avert frequent disruptions of House sessions.

“Maoist MPs and MPs representing the Tarai have said they will let House sessions resume smoothly once the government comes up with a clear stance on their demands,” chief whip of the CPN (UML) Mahendra Bahadur Pandey told this daily.

Pandey, whip of the CPN (UML) Parshuram Meghi Gurung and chief whip of the CPN (Maoist), Dinanath Sharma, took part in today’s meeting.

Speaker Nembang said House sessions will not be disrupted if the government provides more facilities to cadres of the People’s Liberation of Army living in cantonments.
