‘Statute drafting will not stop’
KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML Standing Committee meeting held at minister’s quarter of the party’s acting Chairman and Home Minister Bam Dev Gautam, said since constitution drafting is the CA’s jurisdiction, no one can challenge it and the process will move ahead.

“The meeting has drawn attention of all bodies of the government saying they should be restrained, cooperative and constructive in relation to constitution writing and reconstruction and they should not infringe the jurisdiction of others and go against the principle of separation of power,” said the UML in a statement.
The meeting concluded that the SC order had tried to limit the CA’s prerogative, obstructed the constitution drafting process and had tried to promote instability and confusion at a time when the constitution drafting process had reached the final stage.
