Statute will be amended to address Madhes issues: PM Deuba

BUTWAL: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the constitution would be amended to address the demands of Madhesi people.

PM Deuba stressed that the statue will be amended in Nepali Congress leadership.

Addressing a mass rally organised by the party at Majagaun in Rupandehi district today, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Dauba urged the voters to make NC number one party in the upcoming Provincial and Parliamentary elections.

"Only the big party like NC can amend the constitution," Deuba added.

He also stressed unity for the implementation of constitution and institutionalisation of democracy if the provincial and parliamentary elections are held on time.

Similarly, Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel assured that the constitution would be amended to address demands of disgruntled forces for the implementation of the statute.

"Nepali Congress will indulge in the national development, village development and people development," Paudel added.

Likewise, NC General Secretary Sasanka Koirala said its high time that NC take full responsibility and shoulder developmental issues in the nation.

Meanwhile, NC leader Khelraj Pandey pointed that the mass meeting attended by the senior leaders have given sense of unity to cadres despite party's internal rift.
