Stir against high bus fare

Dolakha, July 22:

The public in Dolakha District have stopped the super express and non-stop buses operated by the Araniko Service Committee from plying in protest against the eight per cent higher bus fare charged by the Committee as compared to the standard national bus fare. The Araniko Service Committee has been charging Rs 385 as bus fare for a distance of 186 km from Kathmandu to Jiri, which has angered the people in the district. The Committee charges Rs 240 per person as bus fare on the ‘’super express’’ buses plying from Charikot. The people have called for putting an end to the arbitrary bus fare rates fixed by the Committee.
