‘Stop seeking foreign help to resolve internal strife’

Rautahat, September 7

Senior CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has suggested that political parties stop seeking the help of foreign powers to settle internal problems.

Speaking at a programme in Gangapipra today, Nepal rued the ignominy that the nation had earned, given the parties’ modus operandi. “Political parties need to be promoting the culture of consultation and compromise to settle national issues among themselves, rather than calling in some foreign powers,” he argued.

He also lamented the failure of political leaders and cadres to keep themselves above partisan interests.

“It’s understood that the country can be developed only when all political parties cooperate for the same, but this is lacking here,’ he added.
