Stored food items to be given to students in Gorkha

GORKHA: The remaining foodstuff provided by different organisations to the quake victims in Gorkha district is to be distributed to the school children.

A meeting of the food cluster of the District Disaster Relief Committee held today decided to distribute the food stocked on the premises of Nepal Army Brigade to the quake-hit students residing in different residential schools.

Different items of food were stored in the Nepal Army warehouse at Tundikhel after providing to the quake-hit communities.

Coordinator of food cluster and Senior Agricultural Development Officer Tirtha Kumar Shrestha said that the food items would be distributed to the schools that are providing residential facilities to the students of mountainous region and monasteries in the districts.

Likewise, the food would also be given to the students with abnormal capacities.

Decision was made to provide the foodstuff to the residential students studying in Gaurishankar Lower Secondary of Samagaun, Nubri Primary School of Prok and Buddha Secondary School of Sirdibas.

Likewise, Bal Mandir Secondary School, Mahendra Jyoti Secondary School, Sarswati Higher Secondary and Manakamana Deaf Secondary School that are providing education to the students with disabilities would also get the foodstuff.
