RAUTAHAT: Five persons were killed by a storm in Rauthat district Sunday morning. More than 60 people were injured and two hundred houses collapsed due to the storm in different places.

According to District Police Office, Bala KC Devi, 60, Priprapokhariya VDC 1, a year old son of Saraflal Das, Amrita Kumari, 10, of Dharampur VDC 2, Rampatiya Kumari Baitha 11, of Shitalpur Baginiya 9 and Shova Kumari Shah, 3 of Mudbalawa 6 were killed in the storm.

The injured are undergoing treatment at the local health post.

At least Rs 10 million worth of property is estimated to have been destroyed by the storm according to Superintendent of Police Ghananand Bhatta.

The storm has also disrupted electricity supply and police communication system.
