Street festival in Pokhara

POKHARA: Restaurant and Bar Association Nepal (REBAN) today organised a one-day street festival in Lake Side, Pokhara, where thousands of people participated.

Renowned French photographer and director Eric Valli inaugurated the street festival. "I am mesmerised by the panorama of Pokhara," he said.

"Coordinator of Pokhara Tourism Revival Committee Ganesh Bahadur Bhattarai, Chairperson of Pokhara Tourism Council Som Thapa, Member of National Tourism Promotion Committee Govinda Raj Pahari among others joined Valli in the event," said General Secretary of REBAN Pokhara, Laxman Baral.

National and international food delicacies, live music concerts, cultural programmes, traditional Nepali instruments, documentaries and handicraft were main highlights of the event along the Phewa bank from Ammat to Barahi Chok.

Bhimsen Bhujel, coordinator of the street festival, said that the event would continue till 11pm.

According to Chairperson of REBAN Pokhara, Gopi Bahadur Bhattarai, this event has helped the tourism industry bring back the lost charm after the devastating earthquake to some extent.
