Students stage rallies against hike in price of petro products

Eight student organisations staged a protest rally against the hike in the price of petroleum products by beating on empty gallons here today. The rally began at Mahendra Multiple Campus and turned into a corner meet at the Laligurans chowk. District president of the ANNFSU (United) Rajendra Dhungana alleged the government of provoking the stir by the increase in price of petroleum products.

He urged the government to withdraw the charges of treason against president of the FSU of the Mahendra Multiple Campus, Govinda Nepali, and to create a positive atmosphere in the campus. In Pokhara, the students of the Engineering Institute Western campus, Lamachaur staged a torch rally against the police firing at the students. The rally began from the Engineering Institute and turned into a corner meet. Addressing the meet, president of the NSU Engineering Institute, Bir Bahadur Shahi said that nobody would be able to put down the protests.
