Sudanese hurt after falling off paraglider in Syangja
POKHARA: A Sudanese national sustained critical injuries after falling off the glider during a paragliding flight at Patabari of Kalikakot VDC-3 in Syangja district on Friday.
The 58-year-old Ton Sodan Green has been airlifted to the B &B Hospital in Kathmandu for treatment.
Police said the tourist was on a solo flight during the accident. He was rescued by an Air Dynastic helicopter and was rushed to the Pokhara-based Manipal Teaching Hospital.
However, he was later airlifted to the Capital-based health facility for further treatment.
Meanwhile, voices have been raised concerning the safety of paragliding enthusiasts in the area.
The Paragliding Pilot Club had submitted a memorandum to the Western Regional Police Office Chief, DIG Kamal Singh Bam, around two years ago.
DIG Bam had assured of the improvement in the safety standards.
The stakeholders, however, lament no initiative has been taken for the same.
