BHIMDUTTANAGAR: Sugarcane produced in Mahakali Municipality of Kanchanpur district is being exported to the Indian market with the produce receiving fair price.

Sugarcane farmers in the district have explored the Indian market for trading their produce at a higher price than the local market.

“Farmers of Dodhara Chandani in the municipality sell sugarcane in India as the selling price is relatively higher in the market there,” said Puran Bahadur Chadaro, a local sugarcane entrepreneur.

Sugarcane is being sold out in India at NPR Rs 640 (INR Rs 400) per kg while the selling price is only NPR Rs 400 in Nepali market.
