Sujata lambasts Sitaula

Itahari, July 17:

Nepali Congress central leader and Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala’s daughter Sujata Koirala today alleged that Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula deliberately gave the 15-day threat-like ultimatum to the Madhesi organisations to come for talks with the government so that they would get wary and will not hold talks with the government and thus, the constituent assembly poll would be spiked.

Attending as chief guest here in a three-day workshop of 58 representatives of the Tarun Mahila Sangh from 17 districts, Koirala said : “The Home Minister has only added fuel to the Madhes fire. His threatening language is objectionable. This is like trying to coerce people into toeing the line.” She added that most of the Madhesi organisations that had been keen on coming for talks with the government were now having second thoughts about its sincerity and willingness to address the issues of the Madhesi people.

Describing the Madhes as a NC vote bank, Koirala said the Home Minister should take care to use language that befitted a minister.
