Pandey unveils economic development plan

CPN-UML leader Surendra Pandey unveiled his plan for the country’s economic development in Chitwan today.
Pandey is the leftist alliance’s Chitwan Constituency-1 parliamentary election candidate. His plan include modalities for land utilisation, urbanisation, road and transportation management, infrastructure development, education, research entrepreneurship, tourism, hydro power and industrial development, among others.
Stressing that land is the state’s wealth, the former minister has emphasised on the use of land for residential, educational and employment purposes. As per his plan, lands should be categorised as per their utilisation and should not be left barren.
Pandey has stated that modernisation of agriculture and urban development should go hand in hand and has stressed on construction of Kathmandu-Nijgadh fast-track and railway, Kathmandu-Rasuwagadhi roadway and railway, the mid-hill highway, and the postal highway in the Tarai, among other activities.
He has proposed increase in the investment on technical education, development of major cities across the country into key tourism hubs and tax exemption for other cities for their infrastructure development for at least 15 years.
He has also stressed on encouraging national and international investors for the development of the country’s hydro power sector and promotion of industries based on domestic raw materials by waiving tax and providing subsidy for their infrastructure development.
