Sushil vents fury at Maoists
GHORAHI: Nepali Congress acting president Sushil Koirala condemned the UCPN-Maoist for breaching earlier pacts and agreements and continuing its spree of violence and anarchy.
Speaking at a press conference organised by the Nepal Press Union in Ghorahi, Dang, Koirala opposed the integration of the Maoist combatants in the Nepal Army. He reasoned that the integration of politically indoctrinated combatants would compromise the high standards of NA’s organisational structure and professionalism. He conceded that the PLA fighters would nevertheless be managed as per the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.
Talking about the change of guard in the government, Koirala refuted the talk, insisting that the NC has no aspiration for a change in the present government.
Koirala warned that the Maoist would ruin themselves if they continue their violence and extortions. He also urged the Maoists to act more responsible and in a more democratic manner.
