Flooding in Budiganga River has led to sweeping away of houses in Badimalika, while incessant rainfall in the region and subsequent flashfloods have put locals at high risk.
According to Gangaram Pandit, a local, Badhmalika has experienced incessant rainfall since Tuesday night and the overflow has swept away at least four houses.
As the news of the incident broke, the locals transported their cattles to the nearby forest for safety.
However, their personal belongings in the houses could not be saved.
Statistics of the District Administration Office indicates that constant downpour has put more that 116 villages of the nine wards in the local level at high risk of flood.
