Civil society members, political activists, mediapersons and human rights activists have stressed the need to end social discrimination for sustainable peace.

Speakers at a symposium organised by Human Rights and Peace Society here today said arms could not bring permanent peace.

Advocate Padhmanath Sharma, Kaji Gaunle, district chairman of the society Pratap Poudel, rights activist Ramji Sharma, advocate Krishna Prasad Niure, district leader of the CPN-Maoist Anil, Kamal Adhikari, Jagannath Acharya, Durgadutta Acharya and Hari Prasad Gautam spoke at the programme.
