TAAN provides relief worth 6 million

KATHMANDU: The Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) has provided Rs 6 million relief amount to families of the workers who lost their lives during trekking.

Twelve families of the workers who died in course of trekking along the route of Annapurna, Upper Dolpa, Sagarmatha, Manaslu, among others were provided Rs 500,000 each.

The relief amount was managed from the fund set up by the Trekkers’ Information Management System (TIMS), said TAAN General Secretary Angtemba Sherpa.

Families of Dak Bahadur Alemagar, Bhim Bahadur Gurung, Jivan Limbu, Khem Bahadur Shrestha, Sansar Gurung, Indra Bahadur Gurung, Pemba Kuisang Sherpa, Chhiring Bhote, Dina Angjuk Bhote, Phurba Bhote, Netra Bahadur Chhantyal and Premdorje Sherpa were provided the relief amidst a programme organised in the capital city on Monday.

Earlier, such relief amount had been provided to 33 families.
