Table Rayamajhi panel report in House, MPs tell government

Kathmandu, December 7:

Members of the House of Representatives (HoR) today asked the government to produce the report of the Rayamajhi Commission in the House. They also demanded the government implement it.

“Why hasn’t the government produced the report in the House? It has made the key players who had suppressed the democratic movement active,” said MP Hom Nath Dahal, speaking at the special hour.

He said that the non-implementation of the report would not be good for the consolidation of democracy in the country.

Likewise, Bharat Mohan Adhikari asked the government why it has not taken any action against the accused in the MP Hem Narayan Yadav murder case in Siraha. “If action is not taken against the culprit, we will not allow the next parliament to convene,” said Adhikari.

He also accused the government and the Maoists of not taking initiative to restore local bodies. Adhikari asked: “Why are the government and the Maoists delaying the implementation of the interim constitution and formation of an interim government?”

Pashupati Shumsher Rana asked the government why it had not formed any committee to investigate the killing of MP Krishna Charan Shrestha when a committee was formed to investigate the killing of MP Yadav.

Lila Mani Pokharel also accused the government of not implementing the Rayamajhi Commission’s report. He asked the government whether the constituent assembly elections would be held on time.
