Talking about king waste of time: Koirala

Biratnagar, September 9:

Nepali Congress (NC) central member Dr Shekhar Koirala today said it is more necessary to think on how to restructure the state rather than wasting time on talking about the king.

Speaking at the training to active cadres of NC Morang area no-6 here, Koirala said: “Since the CA polls will decide the fate of monarchy, it’s not good to waste time on talking about the

king. We have to think of establishing lasting peace and developing the nation.”

“The communists are afraid after the NC decided to go for a republican set-up. The NC model

of republic will be inclusive, multiparty and federal and not people’s republic as that of the communists,” he said.

He said that the NC will not be involved in any kind of front, adding that a joint mass meet of eight parties should be organised to thwart the effort of the forces trying to disrupt the CA polls.

He said that the NC and NC-D will be unified in a few days.

“Both Congresses will be unified by its convention that will held on September 23 and 24. Agreements have been reached on almost all issues related to the unification,” he said, adding that the issues of women, Dalits, janajatis and Madhesis should be addressed while restructuring the state.
