DAMAULI:  Police in Tanahun district on Monday said they were looking for a man who allegedly murdered own mother.

Dev Bahadur Nepali, a resident of Kyamin VDC-6 in Tanahun district reportedly killed own mother Putali Nepali (75) under the influence of alcohol before he fled from home on Saturday night.

The woman was already dead by the time the locals had approached after hearing the call for help from her.

It has been learnt that the deceased mother and her son were living together.

The mother died on the spot after falling down when her son allegedly pushed her off the balcony over a quarrel, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) Krishna Kumar Mahat.

Meanwhile, security personnel including police in civvies have been deployed to the various places including the district border points for the search.
