Tansen reeling under water shortage
Palpa, May 7
Locals of Tansen, the district headquarters of Palpa, are reeling under acute shortage of drinking water.
The daily demand of drinking water in Palpa is 2.5 million litres whereas the supply stands at 500,000 litres only, leading to a widespread shortage of drinking water, according to Chakoman Shakya, chairman of Tansen Drinking Water Consumers Committee.
Shayka shared that the committee had been supplying drinking water to 27,726 people in Bhulke, Sisne and Holangdi through 2,794 taps. Despite this, the water shortage continues to hit the locals here during summer.
The consumer committee here finds it difficult supply adequate drinking water to locals as the population has grown exponentially in the district headquarters lately.
