Tarai outfit’s month-long agitation

Bara, November 17:

The Tarai Mukti Morcha has called a month-long agitation with the aim of what it called “liberating the Tarai.”

The call comes at a time when the government has invited armed Tarai outfits for talks.

Prakas, coordinator of the ad hoc committee of the Tarai Mukti Morcha, issued a release from an unidentified location today and made public the outfit’s programmes.

According to the release, the outfit will mobilise a large number of people from December 3 to December 13, burn the national flag from December 14 to December 20 and burn Nepal Sambat from December 21 to December 25.

The outfit will organise publicity programmes

from December 26 to

January 1, torch rally on January 2 and enforce a Tarai-wide strike from January 3 to January 4, according to

the release.

The campaign for “liberating the Tarai” is gaining pace, the Tarai Mukti Morcha said in the release.
