Tarai talks in limbo

Saptari, October 29:

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Bam Dev Gautam on Wednesday said that the talk process with the Tarai outfits had not progressed as the groups were still continuing their criminal activities. Talking to mediapersons in Saptari district, Gautam said that the Tarai outfits were still continuing criminal activities despite the formation of the talks team by the government. "It is becoming difficult to take the talks process forward because the armed outfits in the Tarai are continuing extortion, abduction, looting, intimidation and other criminal activities," Gautam said.

The Home Minister spoke to journalists after making a visit to camps of the Koshi flood-hit victims.
