Siraha, July 21:

Siraha Working Committee of the Nepal Tarun Dal affiliated to the Nepali Congress today said it would boycott a programme that Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula is slated to attend tomorrow.

Siraha chairperson of the NTD Sunil Koirala has stated that the NTD would disrupt the programme and seek guarantee from the home minister for the security of the Tarai people. The programme will be organised to mark the BP Koirala Memorial Day here.

Home Minister’s recent warning of taking action against the disgruntled factions in Tarai by deploying security forces has sparked incidents of killings and abductions in the Tarai, the statement said. After the minister’s warning, six persons — Ramhari Pokhrel, Ram Krishna Yadav, Buddhiman Tamang, Surya Narayan Yadav, Basanti Shrestha and Bishnu Shrestha — were killed, it added.
