Taskforce urges stripping Matrika Yadav’s CA membership
KATHMANDU: A Constituent Assembly (CA) task-force today recommend CA chairman
Subas Nembang to declare CA membership of Matrika Yadav and
Jagat Prasad Yadav void.
The task-force led by Nepali Congress CA member Pushpa Bhusal made the recommendation.
The duo had rejected the unification of former CPN-Maoist and People’s Front Nepal, which resulted the party’s new name as Unified CPN-Maoist few months ago. Both have been claiming that they are intact in CPN-Maoist. They say they belong to the same party that won the elections. But others have defected to rival forces.
The UCPN-M had expelled them from the party and had written to
the CA chairman to cancel their
CA membership after they went
against the party line.
“We made the recommendation as per the CA regulation after we found that the CPN-Maoist, in which the Yadav duo are claiming their affiliation, do not have legal entity in the Election Commission and the CA,” said the task-force coordinator Bhusal.
After receiving the report CA
chairman Nembang said, “I will take
decision after discussing the report
of the task-force at the Business Advisory Committee.”
The task force comprised Sarita Giri, Yam Lal Kandel, Eknath Dhakal and Brijesh Kumar Gupta probe as members.
