Technical difficulty delaying probe, says Minister Yadav

Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Sitadevi Yadav said the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Probe Commission on Disappeared Persons had failed to investigate the applications registered by conflict victims due to technical difficulties.
Speaking at an interaction held in Phidim, Panchthar today, Minister Yadav held that investigation into as many as 57,000 cases received by the commissions through the local peace committees had not started due to technical difficulties.
Yadav said her ministry had sent Rs 500,000 to the concerned District Administration Offices through the ministry of finance meant for the people who lost their family members in the conflict era.
She also pledged to form a policy for providing relief to those injured, maimed, kidnapped, as well as political prisoners during the Maoist insurgency.
Minister Yadav said she was making all possible efforts to allocate adequate budget to construct the infrastructure that was destroyed and damaged during the conflict era.
