RAUTAHAT: Police in Rautahat district reportedly arrested a teenager for sexually abusing a four-year-old boy in Garuda Municipality-1 on Friday.

The arrested has been identified as local resident Bhola Giri (19).

According to Garuda-based Area Police office (APO), Giri was caught sexually abusing one neighbouring child Okhaiyaj Osta, son of local Makarul Osta, in a sugarcane field at a distance of 100 metres from the latter's home, at around 5:00 pm yesterday. Locals held Giri and handed over to the APO after they caught him red-handed in the horrendous sexual activity with the child as they went to see why the boy was crying, police informed.

Subsequently, the boy who was bleeding from his anus was taken to District Hospital in Gaur. The hospital's emergency ward in-Charge Rabindra Jha said the boy's condition was normal after the treatment.

Meanwhile, Giri has been taken into police custody and a case of child sexual abuse has been filed against him, informed Superintendent of Police (SP) Kedar Dhakal at the APO.
