KHOTANG: A teenage girl was raped by an unknown man in Khotang district on Tuesday.

According to DSP Bidya Nanda Majhi, the 15-year-old girl was raped at the jungle of Tukure Khola of Yamkha-4 in the district while returning from her sister’s home in Temma-5.

The DSP further said preliminary police investigation found that an unidentified black-masked had raped the girl taking advantage of her loneliness.

According to the Khotang District Police Office, they have intensified a search operation to nab the absconding culprit.

The girl, meanwhile, has been referred to the District Hospital on Wednesday after receiving primary treatment at a local health post.
