JHAPA: Ten persons including coordinator of the Peace Committee in Jhapa, Surya Narayan Ganesh were arrested from Birtamod of Jhapa this morning on charge of imposing bandh by resorting to vandalism.

Ten persons were arrested this morning for vandalising vehicles, according to DSP at the Area Police Office Birtamod, Sanjaya Bahadur Raut.

Ganesh is the district president of Sadbhawana Party. Others arrested include district president of Tarai Madhesh Loktantrik Party Trinarayan Rajbansi, Sundar Lal Ganesh, Suresh Yadav and Ganesh Dhungana among others.

Daily public life in Jhapa has been severely hit as a result of the bandh called by the Madhesi Alliance, Tharu Struggle Committee and Kochila Struggle Committee among others since the past five days.
