Kathmandu, January 8:
Nepali Congress (NC) treasurer Mahanta Thakur today laid stress on the need to reinstate the House of Representatives.
Thakur presented the demand for the reinstatment of the House of Representatives as something which can resolve the crisis.
“The only thing the four-party alliance is sticking to is the demand for the reinstatment of the dissolved House of Representatives. That is the only way out,” Thakur said while speaking at a function organised by Okhaldhunga Hatemalo Samaj. He said that the government cannot hold polls no matter how hard it tries.
Thakur claimed that it would be in the fitness of things if the King were to respect the constitution. Another leader of the party, Bal Bahadur Rai, too reiterated the need to reinstate the Parliament as part of the holistic approach to bring the constitutional process back on track.
