BARA: Democracy fighter Shiva Chandra Thakur who actively took part in various social activities died on Wednesday while undergoing treatment at a Birgunj-based hospital.

He was 70. He was a permanent resident of Ganbahal of the district. Thakur was suffering from diabetes and asthma for a long time.

He was an active member of the Nepali Congress. Thakur is survived by a wife, four sons and two daughters.
