Thapa alleges secret deal for CA
HETAUDA: Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal chairman Kamal Thapa today accused the three big political parties of deceiving the people by forging clandestine consensus to extend the Constituent Assembly tenure.
Addressing a mass meeting in Hetauda, Thapa asked the people to come out of the illusion of bogus commitments made by the Nepali Congress, UCPN-Maoist and CPN-UML that they would promulgate the new statute by May 28.
Saying that people had given the CA members two years to draft the constitution, the pro-monarchy leader said, "CA representatives are not supposed to alter people's verdict. For that a fresh election is necessary".
Blaming the big threes parties of indulging in a topple-the-government game, Thapa said, "Maoist strategy to capture the state and UML and NC's penchant for power are working against the peace process".
Thapa also urged the three major parties to be serious about peoples mandate for promulgation of the new statute. "The big-three should resolve their disputes," he said.
