DANG: The bandh called on Friday by the Tharu Rastriya Mukti Morcha (TRMM) paralysed normal life in five districts — Kailali, Kanchanpur, Banke, Bardia and Dang — in mid and far-western development regions.

The bandh was called to protest the President’s decision to reinstate the army chief, who was sacked by an elected government.

Vehicles stayed off the road and educational institution remained closed in the districts. Passengers were stranded at different places along the East-West Highway. All the major bazaars remained shut throughout the day.
