Three arrested for raping a teenager
KAVREPALANCHOK: Police have arrested three persons on the charge of raping a teenager from Mandan Deupur Municipality-7 of the district.
They were among the four persons who allegedly raped a 14-year-old girl at Indrawati river bank in Ward 6 of the municipality on March 17.
The fourth person is at large. The arrests were made following an FIR filed by the family of the rape survivor, who worked as a labourer, extracting sand from the river.
It has been learnt that two of the alleged rapists are driver and driver's assistant of a tipper used to transport the sand. They were arrested from the sand mining industry.
The girl was reportedly abducted in front of her grandmother by them, who took her on a tipper to the river bank and raped her.
Further investigation is underway, while a medical examination of the rape survivor has been carried out, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Dipak Giri said.
