Three-day NPC workshop starts in Hetauda
Hetauda, November 17
Province 3 Chief Minister Dormani Poudel today said the National Planning Commission should focus on implementation of existing projects instead of developing new plans and projects every year.
Inaugurating a three-day workshop on sustainable development, target-friendly plan, and budget and monitoring in Hetauda, CM Poudel held that the National Planning Commission formulated and stacked numerous projects but did not give enough attention to their implementation.
“The trend has been to formulate and pile up projects and ignore their implementation part,” Poudel said.
Poudel said majority of the projects formulated by National Planning Commission in its six decade history were yet to be implemented. He criticised the negligence, on part of government, to implement the devised plans and projects. He laid focus on changing modus operandi.
“Working with traditional mindset will not help to bring prosperity. We should change our working style and mindset for swift development and prosperity,” he added.
On the first day of the workshop, consultant Pushpalal Shakya had presented a paper on planning system and relation between three tiers of the government.
