RAUTAHAT: Three minor girls drowned in a ditch at Banjahara village of Ward No 1 of Ishanath Municipality in  Rautahat on Thursday evening.

The minor girls drowned while fishing in the ditch. The deceased have been identified as Brindaban Yadav’s daughters —  Kinjal Kumari, 10, six-year-old Gunja Kumari Yadav, and Hiralal Sah’s daughter Sarita Kumari Sah, 7, said Rautahat Superintendent of Police Bhupendra Bahadur Khatri.

Police  have initiated an investigation into the incident. Family members and  locals had carried out a search operation after the minors did not  return home.
