Three women drowned in Seti river in Tanahu on Thursday.

Lalu Gurung (25), a resident of Jhaputar of Kahu Shivapur-1, Rupa Gurung (19) of Phalbhanjyang of Kahu Shivapur-5 and Mohani Thapa (26) of Kahu Shivapur-5 were swept away by the river, DSP at Narahari Adhikari said. They were swept away while crossing the river at Hukse of Kahu Shivapur VDC to go to the jungle to collect firewood at 12 in the noon. Though locals pulled out Lalu and Rupa from the river in critical condition at around 1pm, they died on the way to hospital, the police said. Mohani’s body was found later.
