Nuwakot, February 5:

District Administration Office, Nuwakot has arrested three persons for trying to obtain citizenship certificates providing wrong information.

Chandra Bahadur Tamang and Chitra Bahadur Tamang of Samari VDC-5 and their father Dawa Bahadur, who claimed themselves to be Gurung instead of Tamang, were arrested on Thursday.

All three were handed over to police.

Dawa Bahadur Tamang, son of Kunja Bahadur had obtained his citizenship certificate on November 27, 1988 but on Tuesday his son Chandra came to get the citizenship certificate identifying himself as Chandra Bahadur Gurung. He already had got the certificate on his real name in 2001.

The DAO said Chandra had presented a fake certificate issued to his father with same citizenship number but forged signature of the CDO.

Chitra Bahadur had obtained a citizenship certificate as a Gurung last year with the same ploy.
