KAPILVASTU: Three persons were killed when a motorcycle they were riding on rammed into a parked truck at Shivapur-7 along Mahendra Highway on Tuesday.

According to Inspector Lilaraj Lamichhane, the deceased have been identified as CP Sharma, chairman of the Federation of Nepali Journalists-Revolutionary, Kapilvastu chapter, district committee member of the UCPN-Maoists Ganesh Bista and teacher Prakash Basyal. The trio were heading to Gorusinghe from Chandrauta.

Their bodies were cremated at Laxmanghat after post mortem in district hospital.
