Surkhet/Palpa, March 11:

Three persons were killed and 37 injured in separate road mishaps in Surkhet, Ilam and Palpa today.

Two persons were killed and 20 injured when a bus met with an accident at Babai of Surkhet along the Ratna Highway. . According to SP Chhabilal Joshi at Surkhet District Police Office, Nawaraj Gurung and Nar Bahadur Darlami of Gumi VDC-1 were killed on the spot. All the injured are undergoing treatment at Kohalpur Medical College. Condition of five injured, including the driver, is reportedly critical.

In Panchthar, a girl was killed at Thadoline in Phidim bazaar today when a tractor hit her. Dev Kala Shrestha, 18, a 12th grader in Panchthar Multiple Campus was killed in the accident. She died on the way to Dharan for treatment, the police said. The police have nabbed the tractor driver.

Meanwhile, 17 persons were injured when a jeep heading to Tansen from Rampur met with an accident at Bahakhola of Rampur VDC in Palpa today.
