Three killed, nine injured in Pyuthan bulldozer accident

PYUTHAN: At least three persons were killed and nine others were injured when a JCB bulldozer used in digging a road stretch at Kolbot of Dangbang VDC-6 in Pyuthan district overturned this morning.

The deceased have been identified as the teenage assistant driver of the machine Deepak Gaha Magar, Shesh Kant Acharya (20) and Gyanendra Bahadur Gaha Magar (13), said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ranjeet Singh Rathore at the District Police Office.

The dozer was returning after the day's work at the village when a brake failure triggered the accident. The vehicle turned turtle and crushed all three, killing them on the spot today, according to local Hari Magar.

Three of the injured are receiving treatment at a health institution in Amarai area while the rest of them have been referred to Bhairahawa.

In a separate incident, a person died when a tractor (Ra 1 Ta 1322) fell into Kagpapi River at Gothibang VDC-4 in the district yesterday.

Tractor's assistant driver Mukta Bahadur Budhathoki (22) died on the spot in the accident, the District Police Office informed.
