Three minors drown in Makawanpur river

HETAUDA: Three minors drowned in the Manahari River in Manahari Rural Municipality-7 of Makawanpur district on Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Manan Thing (11), son of Sujan Thing; Alekh Rumba (7), son of Deepak Rumba; and Prakash Rumba (7), son of Babulal Rumba, all the residents of the same locality.

The trios were swept away while they were swimming in the river at around 11:30 am today, according to the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bamdev Gautam  at the District Police Office, Makawanpur.

Similarly, 15-year-old Buddha Lama Moktan, son of Tej Man Moktan, was rescued alive while being swept away by the same river.

Meanwhiel, the injured moktan has been receiving treatment at the Chitwan-based Medical College, according to the Manahari-based Area Police Office.

The bodies of three minors have been sent to Hetauda Hospital for the post mortem, informed police.
