• BHUPENDRA MURDER CASE

DHANGADI, MARCH 22

Three people allegedly involved in the murder of Bhupendra Baduwal of Lamkichuha Municipality, Kailali, who were released on bail following the district court's order, have been arrested again.

According to District Police Office spokesperson DSP Bed Prakash Joshi, Sabinjung Shahi, 26, of Bardiya's Thakurbaba Municipality, Bikas Khadka, 28, of Lamkichuha Municipality, and Lokendra Kunwar, 25, of Bardagoriya Rural Municipality, were arrested again.

"We've picked up the trio in line with the Dipayal High Court's order to investigate by keeping them in remand. Dipayal High Court had responded to the appeal filed by the government attorney's office against the district court's previous preliminary verdict to free them on bail," the DSP said.

Further, the police officer said the arrested trio would be produced at the district court and then sent to prison.

Earlier, the District Court of Kailali on December 10 last year, had ordered the release of the three on bail after preliminary hearing on the case. While the three had won their freedom by posting the sought bail amount, nine others who were arrested had been sent to prison as per the court's order.

Twenty-three-year-old Bhupendra Baduwal was attacked with sharp weapons and murdered in Tikapur Municipality.

Police, in connection with the murder, had initiated a case against 21 persons. While nine were arrested soon after the murder, and one subsequently, and sent to prison, with three more being sent to prison now, the total number of people landing in prison over the murder so far has reached 13. Eight others are yet to be arrested.
